Bulago is best visited as an extension of a trip to Sipi Falls or Sisiyi Falls, to inspire you by paying a visit to this scenic village. To get there you turn off to Kamu’s Corner from Kaserem on Kapchorwa road, the road winds through some superb cliffs and passes through a rocky gorge before reaching Bulago, that’s if you’re not daring enough to use ladders ( More on Bugi Trail).
Bulago village itself stands on a cliff top above a lovely water fall, dropping into a pretty meadow. A rocky plateau beyond the village overlooks the Butandiga Ridge; there is a trail that climbs the cliff that borders the National Park for hikers. There are bugi scenic forest views and plenty of bird life for birders.
Accommodation is available by the catholic missionaries in the area; they have a rest house used by their volunteers and missionaries. Accommodation has to be arranged in advance regarding availability, alternatively ASL can arrange a camping safari to the area for those willing to rough it abit.
This excursion will come at 100 USD per person, shared transport, for 4 people willing to share the tent in the evening. This is great outdoor destination, plenty of clean air and a chance to immerse in the Gisu culture. This is another destination off the beaten track and most services are basic, you will however relax and recuperate in natural surroundings.
African Secrets Limited and our safari guides are dedicated to take you and your travel partners in an Eco African tour , we may be able to customise the safari trip by including Bwindi NP trips to go for a Mountain gorilla trekking or even a trip to Murchison falls national park
