Uganda was 1900-1962 under British rule. Before that it was composed many centuries of several separate kingdoms.
The independent Uganda had a turbulent time under several dictators, until President Yoweri Museveni gained control in 1986 and brought together a torn country. Since that time, the coexistence in the country except for occasional disturbances such as in the border region with Sudan and Uganda has consequently peacefully enjoyed rapid economic growth.
