How secure are your systems think like a hacker!

There are so many prying eyes when it comes to data communication, is somebody sniffing your network or redirecting your traffic?. We often concentrate on external attacks and less focus on our internal clients. Most of the holes on your network, data taken out or vulnerabilities on the network are from with in. It helps to do some security awareness training to all your staff and deterrent actions like the Non disclosure acts. Security policies will help you as a system admin get the protection you need. Due care and due diligence must be exercised to protect you, it is very hard to have perfect preventive and deterrent measures in place but it helps to have something in place before you get hit.
If your users are having tools they should not be having like wireshark, WS_Ping Pro pack e.t.c then it is suggestive of something creeping going on, often these are prelude activities that your internal users may engage in before any thing massive takes place.
Play a white-hat-hacker on you own network to discover possible vulnerabilities before the adversary learns of them and make use of them. Once the vulnerabilities have been discovered, plug them up, issue warnings to those engaging in unauthorised activities, basically do all you can before you get compromised.
