Gorilla trekking Information - Location , updates, Bwindi gorillas Uganda

If you are going gorilla trekking experiences shortly in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda, here’s where the gorilla groups in the north and north-east are currently located:

Rushegura gorilla group – 19 individuals are currently in the Mokono area, or above Dr. Scott’s land. Half way up Ibare Hill. (The place of stone)

Habinyanja gorilla group – 18 individuals are currently in The Neck area, or closest to Nyamishamba.

Mubare Uganda gorilla group – 5 individuals are currently behind Ibare Hill, slightly down into the valley.

Bitukura gorilla group – 9 individuals are being viewed as they are currently closer to the park headquarters. Bitukura gorillas are still split into their two groups: 9 & 4. Which ever group is closer to the headquarters, that’s the one you will be viewing. Ruhija is 2 hours from Buhoma by bumpy road. gorilla safari

All three of the treks are relatively easy with guests returning by lunch time.

Weather – the real long rains have not arrived yet. i.e. the norm of heavy daily afternoon showers are not happening regularly like they should be and are only happening every other day. Perhaps the seasons are shifting? gorilla tour Rwanda

Road conditions“apparently”, the section of road from Buhoma to The Neck (Nyamishamba) has been graded and repaired. Its in pretty good condition….until the long rains arrive! safari Uganda gorillas
